The Plant-Powered Society Springs Life at Upshoot’s First Local Event in Kansas City
The excitement was high in Kansas City for the official launch of our local Upshoot team led by a group of passionate Ambassadors who are already living and loving the Upshoot Life.
While people came from nearby Kansas and Missouri, guests also made the trip from as far away as Iowa and Illinois for the chance to be among the first in the world to see what Upshoot has to offer.
It’s been truly special to see so many people resonate with our message so quickly.John Laun, Upshoot Vice President
This plant-powered pop-up was a chance to sample not only some delicious plant-based foods, but of course our incredible Phytopúr family, with all 4 unique products available for sampling. From the creamy vanilla Shake and perfectly sweet Smoothie, to the refreshing Super Drink and savory goodness of the Soup, guests couldn’t believe something so healthy could taste so good.
There from Upshoot’s home office team were Vice President, John Laun and Director of Sales, Carmen Conklin, who loved the chance to thank local Ambassadors and meet new people who were learning about Upshoot for the first time.
“We set out to create a brand that would generate this kind of excitement,” said Laun. “But it’s been truly special to see so many people resonate with our message so quickly. You can’t beat the energy and excitement of a launch event, and we’re so thrilled to be here.”
Adding to the special occasion was a visit from Upshoot Executive Advisor, Joe Cross, the plant-based advocate and award-winning filmmaker whose journey helped inspire the Upshoot mission. Joe shared with the audience his passion for helping people be their best, and how the science and technology at Upshoot can help a whole new generation of people experience the power of plants.
“Hearing from Joe and seeing firsthand his passion for this company and these people is so inspiring,” said Katie Longhauser from Overland Park. “I could listen to him all day, and it’s not just because of the accent!” (referencing Joe’s unmistakable Australian way of speaking).
Guests enjoyed a chance to not only hear from Joe on stage, but also one-on-one before the event and afterwards at a signing of his first book. Amy Stevenson, who made the trip from Chicago for this opportunity, was thrilled for the chance to meet somebody who has meant so much to her. “I post a video every day about Joe for so many of us who follow him,” said Phelps. “It was a real treat for today’s video to be one where I was actually WITH Joe!”
